Before the Falls
We were camping at Little Notch in the Adirondacks and I went off to sit by one of the many streams that flows through these woods. Down the hill from our campsite the stream was drenched in rich greens and soft dappled light. The stream, at this point, is more of a gently trickling pool. But soon it starts the descent into a long cascade of rushing tumbling water. Before the falls, peace is abundant and there is no rush.
